I'm sure what you posted makes some sense to you.
It makes no sense to anyone who doesn't know what Outlook version you are
using or to what view you are referring.

right click on the folder in the folder list an d choose properties, then
remove the check from use as outlook address book tab?

Thank you so much for your help. It was very usefull. My problem now is that
I have deleted some of the folders so they do not apear in the folder list
anymore. However their shortcuts still do. Can you help me with this too?

Assuming you are using Outlook 2002 or 2003, remove outdated references to
Contacts Folders here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change.
