Deleting Custom Outline Code Field

I followed the directions in FAQ:
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/DeleteCustomField.htm
to delete a custom enterprise outline code. The field is no longer
visible in MSP > Project > Project Information (which is good).
However, the data is still present in the database when I run a SQL
query. Is the data suppose to stay in the database?

Addendum...Apparently, the next time projects are saved, the data for
Enterprise Project Outline Code fields is automatically deleted.
What's the easiest method for deleting the data for the Project
Enterprise Text fields once the field is delete? Thanks.

Kathy:

You need to open and close all the projects. You can automate this using
VBA, but there's no other way around this.
