Deleting E-mail in Outlook 2002

When I delete a e-mail in Outlook 2002, the next e-mail in
the inbox automatically opens. How do I stop this, I want
to delete the e-mail and return to the inbox.

Click the Email Options button
Change the first item (drop down box) to Return To Inbox.
