I have been able to break the Global Enterprise template again to the point
that it is still functional, but I cannot make any changes to it.
Process was:
1. Create a task line level custom field within Project server
2. Insert the new custom field into Global Template
3. Delete the custom field
4. Open Global Template for editing
a. A placeholder is still show for the deleted fields, showing <Unavailable>
b. Hiding the fields and saving the template does not work, they just come
back the next time you open a project or the template.
c. Attempting to add a new field to the global template or updating the
<Unavailable> fields to something that exists results in the following errors:
"You cannot modify a table using the TableEdit method in a view that is not
a sheet view. Apply a sheet view, and then try again."
OK or Cancel are message box options. Click OK and I get:
"The view or report cannot be displayed because the table "" on which it is
based has been deleted.
Try the following:
Use a different table for the view. On the View menu, click More Views,
select the view, and then click Edit.
Use a different table in the report. On the Report menu, click Reports,
double-click Custom, and then click Edit.
Create a new table for the view or report."
Anyone have any suggestions other than doing a database restore?
