Deleting information in a field for a group of records

I am using Access 2000 and have a question about deleting information in a
field for a group of records. I am now deleting each entry in the field
individually in each record. For instance, the field is "Miscellaneous"
which I use for various reasons. After each use, I like to delete the field
contents.

What's a "use"? Why would you want to store data in a field and immediately
delete it? That seems very odd: what's the context and what are you trying to
do with this field?

As LauraJane says, an Update query would do this... if you need to do it at
all!
