How can I delete a single component program of MOffice 2007 students. Unknow
to me, the Office package was loaded on to my system by my daughter. It
erased my 2003 xcell but retained my 2003 files. Can I delete all the other
programs in office accept xcell 2007? Thanks

Yes but why bother?

You modify the installation useing the Office 2007 cd, making the component
unavailable.
But if I may ask why would you want to do so? Office 2007 can save files ii
the old format.
Data files are not removed/impacted upon by removing a program

Thank you for that answer, I diden't have a 2007 manual. Other than Excell, I don't have any use for any of the other programs in 2007 student office. Thanks again

Programs only slow the system if they are RUNNING. If you don't open Word
2007 for example, it won't use any resources. I have several browsers,
Office suites, even a Virtual PC with XP and Office 2003 on it - if I don't
need them I don't run them and they don't use any resources

You can have Office 2003 and Office 2007 applications on the same computer,
although Microsoft does not "recommend" this. It appears that you want to
keep Excel 2007, and use Word, Powerpoint, Outlook etc. from 2003. The
following page may be useful.

"Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that
is running another version of Office

You can install and use more than one version of Microsoft Office on a
single computer. For example, you can install and use both Microsoft 2007
Office suites and programs and Microsoft Office 2003 on the same computer.
However, we do not recommend this."
