Deleting old outlook info/new accounts

In the process of cleaning up or old PC to give to my
parents. Millenium Edition. Outlook 2000.
On our old pc the gf had a virgin.net account which was
accessed via outlook.
For some reason when I tried to access the internet over
the weekend I'd
lost my connection which I presume was possibly due to me
deleting a file
that I shouldnt have. Anyhow, I subscribed once more to
virgin after going
through select your isp stuff from tools/internet options
on IE (sorry,
dunno the version but whatever was standard 4 years ago
probably). When
doing this, I set up another account (virgin) for myself
though I wont ever
use it.
Sooooo... I logged on to the internet ok but when I tried
to access outlook
I got an error message relating to a 'kernal' or
something - cant remember the
exact details. Also when I go to connect to the internet I
get two connect options
i.e. the old one and the one i set up two days ago. Both
of these dial the
same number but only the newer one connects to the
internet.

All I want to do is close and delete the old email/outlook
account down and
set up a new one for my parents (though obviously I cant
do this fully til
its in their house as they live 100 miles away and have a
different phone numebr). Could someone PLEASE tell
me how to this apparently dead simple task as its driving
me insane.

TIA
