Deleting page breaks caused an ever-increasing number of blank pag

I deleted some page breaks in Normal view. Now, the first half of my document
is fine, but when I scroll to the second half, the pages are suddenly blank
and I see the page count start to increase without stopping. There are some
complex graphics in my document. Could it be that I deleted a page break
after a graphic, and now Word keeps trying to push it to the next page? How
do I fix this?

It sounds like your document is corrupt. Select the first half, copy and
paste into a new document. Save it while you can. Now retrieve whatever is
available from the second half. Avoid copying the final paragraph mark in
the document.
