deleting past years

Hello
When I scroll back thru my OUtlook Calendar, it goes all the way to like
1998 or so. I never used my Outlook back then and would like to delete years
2003 and beyond. Is it possible to do that? I'm not talking about archiving
past appointments, I know how to do that, but totally removing all those
years from the system itself. Won't that take up space?
Thank you.

The calendar doesn't take up any space if there aren't any items on it. As a
matter of fact, the calendar goes back to 4/1/1601

I noticed that, I went back to 1988 and gave up!!! So why does it do that
and we can't delete that? It's interesting, but unnecessary and hard to
fathom that it takes up no space..

It's being generated on-the-fly. Perpetual calendar calculations allows
this. See any of the fine perpetual calendar discussions on the Internet.
