Deleting Slide Backgrounds from a Presentation in C#

Hey Guys

Sorry to trouble you all. Im having a problem when trying to delete
slide background in C# and PowerPoint 2000. I have a large image
(4mb) set as the background on a slide.

If I set the background of the slide to a solid colour, the background
changes within the slide but the filesize of the overall presentation
does not change. This means that the image is still being stored in
the file somewhere.

I have even tried deleting the slide that the hosts the background,
but this still doesn't seem to remove the large image from the
presentation even though its not visible.

Does anyone know where backgrounds for slides are stored, and how to
delete them programmatically?
