Deleting text?

Ms Word (2002) Sp3.
Deleting a highlighted part of a word
does not delete, but generate a question at
the bottom of window:
Delete Block? No (Yes)
Very irritating!
How can one go back to delete selected text
normally?

Tools | Options | deselect the options for WordPerfect users. That
should do the trick for you. Thank goodness those options aren't even
available in 2007!
