That is not an Office issue. I would suggest asking the tech support staff
at Dell.

Actually, it's not a website, it's a newsgroup. And, Since I also use this
newsgroup a lot maybe somebody could post their favorite chili recipe ;-)

I can't quite understand why so many people have taken offence to such a
simple question.........

We do have an external mouse plugged in but if you catch the mouse
pad/buttons by mistake, they still works and you end up clicking onto things
you didn't mean to........

It's not taken as an offense but these newsgroups serve a purpose - to help
people with problems with Office. Part of your responsibility as a newsgroup
user is to find the one that best suits your needs. Users should also search
the archives for possible solutions before posting but that seems to be
asking too much some days.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Louise asked:

Louise.

People on this newsgroup are tehie mined who have no training in social
skills. They think they know everything; You know and I know that they
are completely unemployable especially in my organization. That sort of
attitude takes them nowhere. If they didn't know the answer, they
should have ignored your message but NO they had to be pedantic and they
love insulting people on these NGs. They have wasted not only their own
valuable time (assuming they have some gainful employment) but also of
people who reads these messages to see if they apply to their
circumstances.

As to your direct question, the only way to disable inbuilt mouse is to
remove the drivers but I would not recommend you to do this. DL has
quite correctly suggested that the best thing is to plug in your
external mouse and it should work in tandem with your inbuilt mouse.
However, if you plug your external mouse in PS/2 port (not USB port)
then inbult mouse is automatically disabled. I have tried it on my DELL
laptop.

Hope this helps.

If you don't mind, could we rephrase the beginning with "A few people
on this newsgroup..."? ;-)

Not all of us who frequent this newsgroup enjoy insulting others and
are just as disappointed when they see it happen.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
