denied access to database

Struggling user

I've got an Access database that I've created for my company.
It takes data from a lot of excel spreadsheets, manipulates it, I add some
other stuff and then it exports some data out to excel files.
I also have pages that are published on the intranet.
Because of this the database is on a network drive.

Now I can't back up the database, I keep getting the message
"you attempted to open a database that is already opened exclusively by user
'admin' on machine 'my computers network name' . Try again when the database
is available."

When ever I try to make a change to the database I get the message
"You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time..."

I'm the only person accessing the database but I still cant save/change
anything because my computer has exclusive access.

Any help is greatly anticipated.

Even if the db is open - or thinks it is - you should be able to copy the mdb
file without any problems. Once done, delete the existing ldb file. This
file contains the locking information, for the mdb. That should let you get
back in.

Check through previous posts regarding modifying your settings to alter your
security level, at startup.

Hello,
I'm having a similar problem and I tried your fix, but, my .ldb file won't
delete and I'm still locked with unrepaired database. Can anyone help me
here?
I praise your higher knowledge and salute you.
