Antigua2001

Hello,

we have here about 350 computers all with W2K SP4 and Office 97 SP1.
So now i want to deploy Office 2003 and delete Office 97.
So i created and administrative install of office 2003
and deployed it to a testcomputer. The installation
was successfully Office 97 was removed and Office 2003
was installed. But there is one little Problem.
In the programs - menu there are links to the old office 97
programs that do not work. Why are these links not removed?
And how can i change my deploy of office 2003 that also these
old links are removed?

Thanks a lot

It may be worth checking where those shortcuts are located i.e. are they in
the All Users profile or are they under individual user names.

As I understand it, the Office 2003 will only look under All Users.

We had a problem with some Desktop icons not being updated - it turned out
the ones that weren't updated/deleted were created in specific user profiles.
Ones created under All Users were changed fine.

I don't think there is a way to easily hit the other menus, at least not
with the Office install itself. You may be able to use something like Active
Directory or LANDesk, or similar, if you have tools like that.
