Deploying Groove - Connecting to the MS Groove Enterprise Service

Hi,

I just installed Groove 2007 on my PC. I'm going to be installing this on
three other laptops soon, when we get the Office 2007 Ultimate software w/
Groove.

I understand that the Groove Enterprise Services is the way to go for a
small business like mine. Is this something I need to sign everyone up for?
It seems as if I've read that it is "automatic", so I'm thinking Groove 2007
just "finds" an MS server and connects to it, right? I get that the manager,
who creates the Groove workspace, sends invitations to each of the other
users, who then join the workspace. Do I need to configure Groove to connect
to the same server for each user?

Thanks SO much for the reply. I've really tried to do my homework, but I'm
still a bit confused on how to deploy this successfully.

Buying Groove Enterprise Services (GES) is not a technical requirement
for Groove to function.

However, from a managerial point of view, we advise our customers to use
GES or deploy Groove Servers as well, as that allows you to manage the
Groove user identities, security policies and devices within a highly
secured Groove domain.

It also ensures that a backup is being made of the Groove accounts (not
the Groove data) allowing you to restore your Groove environent in case
of a crash of your hard disk.

Thanks for the info. I think that we may look for an alternative solution,
specifically because Groove does not synchronize email. That's unfortunate,
because Groove otherwise looks like it will handle a lot of what we want to
do.
