We deployed MSProject 2003 with System Management Server on a per-user basis.
We have two groups of Project userw. Local users and users that connect to a
EPM server. Therefore, we've build two MSI's. They only contain a shortcut to
the winproj.exe and for the EPM msi, some current user keys.
In SMS these packages are configured so, that when the install starts, the
installation of Microsoft Office 2003 Project will run first.
The problem is when User1 installs MSProject on Computer1 and then User2
logs on Computer1 and has also the privelege to install MSProject. But the
install does not start. Because of the run-first construction, the user
receives a shortcut from the shortcut MSI.
When that user clicks on the shortcut, he receives the error that MSProject
could'nt start right.
Does this problem sound familiar?
