We have to upgrade about 800 computers from Office 2000 to Office 2003.
I already found some information about this subject (e.g. MS Resource
Kit), however I'm still looking for some practical tips,
recommendations, interesting links etc.
Especially:
- uninstall+reinstall or update? (advantages/disadvantages?)
- any problems with third party applications, Office AddIns (Adobe
Acrobat Elements, Finereader) etc. to be expected?
- recommended user setting (e.g. "disable smarttags"), configuration
via Group Policy or REG file?
- any problems with file conversions (doc format, normal.dot + other
config files, macros etc.)?
- details on changed / new features in Office 2003? frequent user
problems after upgrade?
- admin tips? (like e.g. "MSG files by default in unicode format,
therefore not compatibel with Outlook 2000 ==> problems in mixed
environments Outlook 2000/2003 ==> disable Outlook setting "Save in
unicode format" etc.)
Any help would be highly appreciated!
