All,

I need help in reagrd to how to deploy the Project Server 2003 web access
over internet. We are already successfully running it on the intranet.

Also, I want to know whether we can have our own security settings template
for different roles like Project Manager, Team member etc. By default the
project web access has provided with templates for all the roles available.
But I want define the templates for all the roles based on our requirement so
that it is easy for us to set the security settings for the users we create.

Thanks in advance.

You should use an application such as Terminal Services or Citrix to use
Project Server over the Internet.

Yes, you can create your own security templates in Project Server. To do
so, complete the following steps:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Manage Security link
4. Click the Security templates link in the sidepane
5. DO NOT modify an existing template
6. Click the Add Template button
7. Give your new template a name in the Add New Template dialog and select
an existing template from the Copy Template pick list
8. Click OK
9. Set up the new template as desired and click the Save Changes button

It essential that you do not change the default templates, as there is no
Undo to return them to their original values. Therefore, we always
recommend copying the default templates and modifying the copies.

Once you have created your new security templates, you will still need to
apply them to the various Groups in PWA. Hope this helps.

If you want to deploy Web Access over the Internet, the best approach is to
put up a second front end running the application over SSL. As Dale
mentioned, it's best to use Terminal services to use Project to connect to
Project Server across the Internet.
