Deployment of FaceID icons

Hi all,

I've written an add in that creates button's on the standard toolbar.
As part of this it sets the icons via the FaceID property.

My addin was written against Office 2003 but will also need to run on
user machines that have Office 2000.

Are all of the FaceId icons automatically in built in a standard
installation of Word ? I'm worried that on a bog standard install of
Word 2000 that some of my icons won't be available.

Do I need to deploy any of the Word FaceID icons ?

Cheers

Hi

My general observation is that you won't have a problem, unless you've used
a FaceId that is new since Word 2000. And no, I have no idea if a list of
those exists.

However, I have had a couple of problems with toolbars where I tried to move
a Word 2003 add-in back to Word 2000, even when I knew that the FaceIds were
as old as the hills.

The only way to know for sure is to test your addin in Word 2000.

Hope this helps.

Word 1 went to about 100.
The FaceIDs you are most likely to use have low IDs.
I guess with Word 2000, up to about 3000 should be safe.

Word2002/2003 added IDs up to close to 10.000... I would not use those.
