deselect multiple fields in excel pivot table

Is there a way to deselect multiple items from a field in a Pivot Table? I
would like to find an easier way then the down arrow and space bar (I am
mouse-challenged)

Ctrl selections do not work nor does shift+arrow keys, etc.
