Design flaw with "Account" Field

C

ccameron

I reported an error with the design of the account field in BCM last fall,
but there still has not been a patch to fix it.

The account field in Form View of Business Contacts does not show in any of
the Table Views. The field does not export to Word in a mail merge. Neither
does it go to Access in a linked table. Since Account is the field that
relates the Business Contacts to the Accounts, it makes it impossible to
relate an account table to a contact table in access...ie it makes the whole
thing useless.

Please fix!!

Thanks

Isn't the Account field of Business Contacts the GUID (a string of
numbers and letters) of the parent Account, and not the name of that
Account, which I assume is what you are looking for?

My advice when linking to the BCM database from other apps is to use
the views, instead of going to the tables directly.
