How can I apply a design template to only a single slide or a number of
slides but not to all of them?

What if I wanted that template but only on one slide in the presentation and
the rest were simply blank?

In PowerPoint 2000 the template is applied to all slides. To have some of the
slides be blank, you would need to use the Blank.POT template.

What is it in the other template that you want to use? Is it the background?
Is the background an image or just a color?
