Design View as default??

Hi,

I'm setting up a questionnaire using check boxes for the responses.
However, when I save, close and re-open the document it always comes up
in design view (i.e you have to click on the design mode button before
you can click on the check boxes). This is not ideal as the intended
recipients are not too IT literate.

Can anyone tell me how I can get the document to open in a normal view
please?

Design Mode is enabled because of the security settings in Word. An
alternative is to use the check boxes from the Forms toolbar and then
protect the document for forms (see

links to articles by Dian Chapman). Note that if you don't need the
power of controls or forms protection, that is, if you need check
boxes only for display, you could take a look at
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Add_Toggle_Ojects.htm instead.
