Hello,
My tables won't show any data. I enter it in the form, but
it won't show on the table. I tried toenter on the table,
but it doesn't show, yet when I went to the form, it was
already in the form???
I have spent many hours going over help files, and
tutorials without real help.
thanks,
Barry

Barry:

Your forms show data but it does not go to the tables? What is your form
based on? What is the "Record Source" in the properties box?

You say you enterred data in the table, but it does not show up? That makes
no sense. You double-clicked on the table, typed in records, closed the
table, and when you re-opened it the records were gone?

Is your file opened as read-only? Even if so, I would expect you to get an
error.

Rick,
Thanks for helping. Yes, I opened the table I created, in
datasheet view, and typed in the data, but it didn't show
up on the screen...it was still blank. So, I thought I
must need to enter the data with a form, so I created a form,
and entered the data...BTW, one the form was the data I
had tried to type into the table...it was the client's name.
thanks, Barry

As you press keys nothing is displayed?!?!?!

Does it say "read-only" anywhere on your screen?

Yes, when I type in table, nothing is displayed on screen.
I don't see a "read only" disply on the screen either, and
neither does my daughter looking on.
thanks, Barry

This is anew one to me. Hopefully one of the MVPs or someone else will see
this post and know what it might be.

WILD WILD GUESS. Check the font color and make sure you aren't typing white
text onto a white background.

Open the table in datasheet view and select Format: Font from the menu. Check
and see what color is assigned to the font for the datasheet view.

I got the same kind of effect when a query that I had been
working on decided to go into an endless loop. The table
that the query was supposed to generate came out white on
white without even the gridlines. Type into the table and
nothing appears (sound familiar?), create a form to add
data and then look at the table and see nothing (also
sounds familiar).

Closing and restarting Access fixed that much, but running
the query again caused the table display to disappear
again the same way.

I finally deleted my query and re-created it the right way
and this time it worked.

Check that you aren't running something that starts a non-
terminating loop. If that doesn't help, then start a new
database, import any needed files/queries/forms etc and go
from there.

It takes a newbie to answer some questions.
