I am not real clever with Excel, so forgive me my stupidity!
I work as an editor and graphics person and one of my duties is converting Word reports into FrameMaker. Frequently Excel-generated charts are part of the publications, and the only way to make tables with the correct fonts is to copy-and-paste the data into a FrameMaker templated table. It would save immense time if the tables were generated in Excel and then embedded into the FM document. The contents are usually simply raw data, words and numerals.
Here's what I need:
1. The header column needs to be a pastel creamy yellow (don't have the pantone number with me at this time)
2. Column titles centered, bold
3. Words and phrases aligned left, numerals centered in columns
4. No visible lines
5. Every other line needs to be shaded gray, about 10% fill, to increase readability.
6. If there are footnotes/citations to be included, these are at the bottom of the table, aligned left, right edge ragged.
I will send a sample if anyone can help me and wants to see what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with Framemaker. However, I don't understand from your
description what the problem is. Excel however, has a limited palette and
can not easily do Pantone colors. Given that, you should be able to create
an Excel template, formatted as you describe, and then paste the raw data
into it to get the result you need. Instead of Paste, use Paste Special, and
select values.
