I imported an Excel file into Access and now need to add and extra field to
the table, which would be an OLE object. I get an error messagewhen saving
that too many fields are defined, followed by errors were detected duringthe
save operation file not updated etc ..

Any suggestion on how to get extra fields into my tabel

Thank you

William,

Please post some details about your table. How many fields do you have?
What kind of data are you storing? How many records do you have?

William,

I've never encountered this problem, but start with Tools, Database
Utilities, Compact and Repair Database. You also might want to create a
parallel empty table in Design view, and attempt an Insert query from the
corrupted table to the new one.

Hope that helps.

Hi and Big THANK YOU I ran the compact and repair, screen came up
straight away with my switchboard. I went in and aded the extra OLE field
and the pictures come up correct in my form. I was aware of the compactg and
reapir option but was relcutant to try it based on a comment made in and
access book I once read. Ah well you live and learn have a great weekend
and thanks again
