desktop alerts from multiple email accounts

I have a user that has a primary Exchange account on OL'07, and also has an
IMAP account which is checked from the same profile. What is the best/most
efficient way to get a desktop alert when new email comes to the IMAP account
(as right now it's not giving an alert, while Exchange is).

You can create a generic rule for that or set it specifically for the IMAP
account.
