desktop problem

I'm new to computing and I need a little help. I put a cd picture disc in my
drive and opened it up, right clicked a picture and saved to my desktop. When
I closed my control panel my picture was a little white box with a red x in
the middle. Now, when I put my cursor on it and double click, it does
nothing. When I right click, I just get the dialog box to change my desktop.
I want to get rid of this box but don't know how. My operating system is
windows xp home. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks for any assiatance.

Joe,

This is an MS Access newsgroup you would be better placing a post in a
Windows XP newgroup, you could try right clicking on the desktop selecting
properties and select back ground you can change the background apperiance
in there.

Tried what you suggested [right clicking] but it didn't work. Will try xp
newsgroups. Thanks for your help.
