detect and repair - now a password?

I have Access 2003. I'm not sure why but it always put new databases in
Access 2000. I did a "detect and repair" and then when I opened Access back
up, it wants a password. I do not have user profiles set up on my computer,
nor any passwords established. How do I get back into my Access?

This is the default behavior of A2003.

This can be a sign of corruption in the MDB. I'd suggest going to
your backup. You might be able to use JetComp to get your data back.

For more information on corruption including possible causes,
determining the offending PC, retrieving your data, links, official MS
KB articles and a list of vendors who state they can fix corruption
see the Microsoft Access Corruption FAQ at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

In the future I'd suggest always making a copy of the MDB before doing
a repair of any sort.

Thank you for your reply. I ended up doing a "system restore" and that has
corrected my problem at least. I'm not sure exactly what the "detect and
repair" did, but it also wiped out my Outlook. When I realized that, I did
the "system restore". I didn't realize that how extensive the "detect and
repair" would be.

Thank you again,
