Detect Project Central Update

A

Alex Edwards

Hi,

I have an interesting chalenge which I am hoping someone
out there can help me with. I have an Auto_Open Macro
which caries out a few custom health checks on individual
projects, and fires prompts to the user when necessary.
But the problem is is that when a PM sends update
messages from Project Central the Auto_open macro runs
when the project is launched and various alerts pop up in
the plan which the PM has to close one by one, by which
time Project Central has timed out and fires its own
alert and stops the update. The User then has to resend
the update with project already open.

I do not want to disable the Auto Open macro as it is
still important for the users when they are opening there
projects normally, so is there any way that I can detect
when Project Central is selecting to Open a Project Plan
and then set or send a variable that will tell the
Auto_open macro to skip the health check code?

The only other option I can think of is to ask users to
only have the standard global open when they run updates
from PC but I would rather something that does not
require the user to do anything diffently.

thanks

Alex
