Determine location of currently edited file

It happens many times that you can open a file form the recent documents item
list and you would like to know where the currently edited file is located.

In Office 2003 you could use the File->Data page (I am not sue about the
correctness of the name because I have never used english office.)

Where is this functionality located in Office 2007?

Well, this isn't the most elegant, but I just use "File" - "Save-As" and it
defaults to where the file was opened. Then I look at the folder path.

For the default location, in Word 2007 click on the Office Icon {upper left}
and then click on the Word Options button {lower right} and select Save.

Clarification: Click on the Office Button (upper left corner) and then click
on "Save As". Sorry...reverting back to the "old" days.

Thx Tim,

It works. But there is a condition for this and it is that the given file
has to be the last opened or saved in Word. Otherwise it may point to another
location.

I do not know why such information panels have been removed from the 2007
version as they were really essential, at least for me.

During writing this post I found the real solution:
You have to place the mouse over the file you would like to open in recent
files and wait. After a while a hint window will appear with the desired
information. But to be able to copy that location or navigate there, you have
to follow the suggested method in the previous post.

I re-read the entire post...did you mean in Word 2003 you used to look at
the document "Properties"? Did you click on "File" and then "Properties"? If
so, in Word 2007, the equivalent would be: click on the "Office Button"
(upper left corner of Word) and then click on "Prepare". The top choice is
"Properties".

That's it! I have to get accustomed to this new ogranization of
functionality. :)

Thx!
