determine workdays

i am trying to calculate how many days between 2 dates that excludes
holidays and weekends. Is there a formula for that. Thanks,

Look at excel's help for =networkdays().

If you're using xl2003 and below, you'll have to have the analysis toolpak
loaded.

Tools|Addins check analysis toolpak

Depending on how excel was installed, you may need the distribution disks.
