Developing FE/BE for Access 2003 db using Access 2007

Hello,

I support a database that was created using Access 2003. I want to upgrade
my version of Access to 2007. In order to continue supporting the Access 2003
db, should I:

1. Install both Access 2007 and Access 2003 on my computer?
2. Install virtual machine, then use it for Access 2003 and switch between
it and Access 2007?
3. Or can I just upgrade to Access 2007, and save any FE changes to be
compatible with 2003?

Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

You should develop on the oldest version your users use to avoid
incompatibilities with newer versions. Your best option is #2. (But I'd put
2007 on the VM, not 2003.) It keeps the versions separate from each other
and doesn't require reinstallation of registry keys when switching between
versions of Access.

I have several computers with multiple versions of Access, including 2003
and 2007, on them without any serious problems. Of course your safest path
as far as not worrying which app is registered is to use a Virtual Machine.
