Dialing phone #'s from Outlook with DSL connection

Just switched to Outlook 2002 and a DSL connection through router and DSL
modem.

When I try to dial a phone number from outlook, I get an error -- "check
modem & phone line connection". The modem connection is okay -- I send
faxes through WinFax.

Is Outlook trying to use the DSL modem? If so, how do I get it to use the
regular phone line modem?
