difference between 'open file' and 'open web'

Hello,
I created a web page and published successfully.
after doing that, I saved everything. But the next time, I
couldn't open the file through 'open web'. I only could do
that by 'open file'.

Thanks!

I rarely, if ever, use open file... never need to open a single file.
I always use open web. The trick is that you only have to have the
directory open. Don't look to select a file, because it doesn't work that
way. I was tricked at first too. Not sure if that is your problem or not.
If you are a directory above, you can select "open web" and select the
folder name. If you are in that folder, you don't select anything. Do
"Open Web" and click okay.

Hope this helps

Another way is with the Windows explorer. You can go to the "index.htm"
file, single click with a left mouse then click right mouse and hold. When
the menu appears, choose edit file. This will bring the entire web up... in
FrontPage.

vewy intwesting, just used it and was supprized to discover that it opened the web as well.
Just saved myself another step.
So I guess you CAN just open a file as long as it's already in a web?
Even with explorer/edit in FP...long way to go about it though.

you open the web, then you have to go file > open to open the pages (i.e.
files...) within that web....

Humor aside, it's a page that is not linked to by any
other page.
