difference between ".published" and non-".published" project version

Is there anybody to explain why I have two versions of some projects in PWA
"Clean up Microsoft Project Server database" page ?
Both have the same name and are of the enterprise type but differs in the
"Version" field: one is published version and the second isn't.
When opening project from Project Pro 2002 I can see only one project with
that name.

Mike --

Have you done a File - Save As and saved some of your projects as .mpp
files? And could you have accidentally published one or more of those .mpp
files? This could account for the double projects. Hope this helps.

You might have duplicate projects in your database. I know there are some
knowledge base articles that addresses this issue.
