Difference in data: from Microsoft Project vs. Web Access

Hi,
I have following strange problem:
I have project plan stored on Project server. Each task has some duration
(it's normal).
When I look to this data from Web Access, i see different values.

Do you have idea where's problem?

We are usintg Project Server 2003 and Project Professional 2003 - I am not
sure what versions you are utilizing

Can you help me understand what the durations settings in your MS project
are? I am not familiary with the "dny" setting for duration. - perhaps this
is the issue?
Otherwise I can offer my experience as follows:

I had this same issue the other day with the PM's. When I looked at the
projects calendar settings - menu path Tools/Options - calendar Tab I saw
that the project the PM was using was actually set to 10 hours per day with
default starting time of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
WHen I looked at the Enterprise GLobal settings for this same screen it was
set to 9 hours per day, 8:00 to 5:00
What I learned was that these two need to match or when the project is
published duration variance occurs between MS project views and PWA views.
Work stayed the same. I had the PM change Project calendar to match the
enterprise global settings and republish- everything synched.

I hope this helps

Hi,
we are using also version 2003 for Project Server and version 2003 for
Proffesional.
About "dny": we have czech version and it means Days.

We are using 8 hours/day for everybody. Also, all projects are stored on
project server and they are based on global template of project.

The main problem is: when I connect to server using Microsoft Project 2003,
I see different values comparing when I open it by Web Access. I think I am
looking to the same data. But I see 2 different values....

Jiri,

Does this issue occur only with one project? Or are several or even all
projects on the Project Server database affected by this? If only one or a
few projects are experiencing this behaviour, there might be a problem with
the publishing process for these projects.

What SP of PS2003 are you using? Are you using the same SP version on the
client as on the server? This is key to many publishing issues.

Let us know...

Hi Marc,
it's happened in all projects.
We are using MP03 SP2 and MPS03 SP2 - it means the same :-(
