Can someone tell me the difference between the german and the englisch
language office version?

The German version of Office would have a German
language Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the English
version would have an English GUI.

Is that all? Over here in Germany we have some additional letters, different
format for times, and I guess a different papersize. But, as a matter of
fact, the english version is much cheaper over here.

Letters available are determined by the keyboard and keyboard language set
in Regional and Language..

Time can be set to suit either 12 or 24 hour in XP.. the format for how time
is shown in documents can be set in Office Options or Customize..

Paper sizes and weights are more or less the same across Europe.. paper size
is determined by the printer settings, and weight is only an issue if the
printer mechanism does not allow for the heaviest available..

The English version comes with proofing tools for English, French, and
Spanish but NOT German.
