Difference

I'm trying to enter a calculation that will show me the difference between
two cells with the result being a percentage.

as in;

269751.59 - $306,652.22 = $(36,900.63)

I want to display this as a percentage but I'm not sure how to format it to
show it that way.

Maybe you want to re-think this. Subtraction does not yield a percentage.
if you want to divide use /
