Can anyonw tell me from a user perspective what the differences are
between Powerpoint 2000 and 2003.

At there any significant new features/functions or anything which works
differently?

Many thanks

The are vast differences between 2000 and 2002/3 with the 'custom
animations'

Any object on a slide now has the ability to move from a to b and 'exit' the
slide. Before this was not possible.

Powerpoint 2002 (aka xp) and 2003 are very similar IMHO

PowerPoint 2003 adds the Package for CD option (very helpful for passing
presentations on to others who do not have the same version). It also adds
new transitions and animation effects including motion paths.

Adding to the list...
Multiple masters - the ability to have more than one pair of master slides
in a single show.
Animations outside the main timeline - click an object on the screen and
make another object move or change

Windows XP comes in two flavors -- Professional and Home. There's not a Small
Business version of Windows XP, however PowerPoint does not come with Windows
anyway.

Office XP comes in many editions. You may have gotten Office XP Small
Business Edition. Office XP Small Business Edition does not include
PowerPoint, either. If you want to add PPT, you can purchase the PPT 2003
Upgrade. http://www.microsoft.com/office/powerpoint/howtobuy/default.mspx
You cannot purchase the PPT 2002 or PPT XP Upgrade.
