Differences when MSProject calculates durations.

I got really confused when I saw that some of my projects are calculating
duration in differente ways. The example: In one, Jan 1 to Jan 3 is 3 days
duration, in the other it is calculated as two. I would appreciate it if
someone could explain this to me. Thank you and greetings from Mexico.

Hello Carlos,

What are the Date/Time of Start and Finish?
Is the 1st January a day off in the 2 project calendars?

Thank you Gerard... The dates I posted are examples only. What I mentioned
before happens throughout the calendar. In one project March 7 to March 7 can
be an indicative of 1 day, on another, one day duration means, with
obligation, March 7 to March 8... Or , June 5 to June 10 is six days in one
and five in another. I hope I´m making my self clear. Thanks.

Carlos,
I was asking about time because a task which spans from March 7 12:00 to
March 8 12:00 has not a duration of 2 days, but only 1 day.

Carlos,
To display time with the dates :
Tools / Options / View : Date format : choose a format with 12:33 which
means hours and minutes
