Different header for each chapter

I am having trouble applying a different header to each chapter of my
publication. I have inserted a section break and if I change any of the
headers in any section they all change to match. The only way around this is
to use a different master page for each chapter which somewhat defeats the
purpose of having a uniform master page. Am I missing something?

Publisher is text box based, if you have all the text boxes linked then you will
have the problem you are experiencing. Long documents are best done in Word.
Break up your chapters into individual chapters, that way you can have different
headers.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your answer, but I don't think that is the issue. I have a master
page set up with the chapter title in the header which forms the first page
of each chapter. I have a section break between each chapter, with each page
having its own unlinked text box containing the text. The problem is that if
I use the same master page in more than one section, the headers will all be
the same. My understanding was that when you insert a section break, it gives
you the opportunity to create a different header for that section.
Any further insights? Thanks

Inserting a section doesn't affect font styles. Have you tried creating your own
font style? Maybe several headers.
Why not use more than one master page? It would be a good solution. Section
breaks in Publisher are not like those in Word.
