difficult w/ viewing embedded objects and emails

Latley, I notice that when I try to type in an email
address within a Word2002 document, instead of the actual
address itself(say for example, [email protected],
highlighted in blue), I now get something like:
{Hyperlink "mail to [email protected]"}, without the
highlight and certainly much more verbose. I could change
it back temporarily by selecting the address, right-
clicking, and choosing "Select hyperlink". However, it
reverts back once the document is closed.
Any thoughts?

Hi perplexed,

Use Alt+F9 to toggle off the display of field codes and you will end up with
just the email addresses.
