Difficulties with inserting text with Office Word 2007 (Beta 2)

In old versions it was so easy to insert texts from another source into a
document. With 2007 it is very hard to cut and paste when your text source
is in Outlook Express, or another file. Pictures do not present this
problem. Why was text taken out of the facility ?

I used to utilise Office 97 and Word 97. I then upgraded to Word 2000. Next
I upgraded to Office 2007 Beta 2. I like the concept in general but do have
a severe problem. I have to use the programme in its "compatible" form so
that receipients with older programmes can download and read files. I find
it is not so satisfactory as the superseded versions in that I can very
easily insert PICTURES from other folders and files, but cannot copy forward
or insert TEXT files (including e-mails via Outlook Express). Why did the
facility disappear ? Or is it hidden away somewhere ?

Compatibility mode in Office 2007 means that files are saved in the
Office file formats used by Office 97 till Office 2003.
How were you able to insert text files in the Word 2000? If you describe
how you did it, it's a lot easier to tell you how to achieve the same in
2007.

Hi FHRG,

Are you using Word 2007 Beta 2 or Word 2007 Beta 2 + Technical Refresh?

I've not seen a lot of change in the paste behavior from Outlook Express 6 into Word 2007 from Word 2003.

As Patrick mentioned, if you can list the steps you're using in Word (2007 and earlier) it may help to see what's going on. Also
check to see if you have any 3rd party add-ins in Word (Norton and Adobe add-ins are ones to look for as a starting point) that can
interfere with inter-app methods.
