digital watermark question

Help

I am looking to apply some form of water mark to some sensitive documents.

I wanted to not only apply a footer with the usual disclamer but a
watermark that was placed randomly across the pages of the document ? Thus,
it would reduce the chance of people just cutting off the footer to get rid
of the notice.

Any one have a suggestion or two ?

TIA

If you have a printer that supports it, Word XP or 2003 will allow you to
add one, search for WaterMark in the help.

I think you misunderstood the question. I read it that Mark was looking for a
security watermark, not something which simply stated "sample" or such like
and was visible.

Mark - would I be correct in thinking you're looking for a digital security
feature? If so, the most widely used is Digimarc (www.digimarc.com). It used
to be free for up to 20 documents/photos - not sure if that's still the case.

Thank you... You are close and I will check out digimarc to see what they
have to offer.

It does not matter that the water mark is visable, but it it is then the
positioning must be random on each page.. Unlike the standard MS option.

I recently received a letter where, at the top and bottom of the document,
there was a blue line and typed over the blue line were words to the effect
that the document is not valid unless two blue lines are showing top and
bottom.. a simple and clever solution, I thought..

I like the sound of that :)

A strikthrough effect and the fact that the line is blue suggest that it was
not a photcopy ....

I would like to see an example :)
