Dimming bullet points

For some reason, even when set to 'don't dim' the option is only 'don't
dim' rather than dim. How do I dim a bullet point?

There isn't a "Dim" command - use the Custom Animation Effect Options to
select a color that you want the Bulleted Items changed to when the next one
displays... Or one of the other menu options such as 'Hide after Animation'.
