How Do I Password Protect My Directories in Frontpage? I want to restrict
access to my images folder but would like the option for qualified users to
enter a password to access the folder.

Not possible from within FP. You need to create a folder under another name for your images, then
convert it to subweb / subsite, then on the live server you would open the subweb / subsite and then
you can set permissions under the Tools Menu.

Note: Some web host do not allow subweb/site and/or do not allow you set unique permissions on
subwebs/sites.

I guess I am a little confused. I need to create a new folder and convert it
into a subweb. Then publish it to the site and then administer it from the
server side?

I guess what I am really getting at is that I do not want anyone to be able
to just type in the address of my images into the address bar and be able to
pull them up. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks

Correct or you can have your host set the permissions on the folder, however do not do it on the FP
created images folder.

If you really want to protect your images, then do not put them on the web.

If you protect the image folder, then any page using those image will prompt the user for login, and
once the image is viewable the user already has a copy on there local machine if they really want it
