Directory browsing

D

Dig

I noticed by accident one day that if I include my images folder name at the
end of my web address it comes up in the browser exposing all my images to
the world.

How do I prevent that from happening? I was told by someone the follwoing:

Put a default page there saying access if forbidden or redirecting back to
the home page.

You can also turn off directory browsing.

But I don't know how to do either. Could someone pelase tell me what the
best solution is and how to accomplish it?

Thanks

You will most likely need to have your host turn off directory browsing,
unless your hosting account has a web masters control panel ( CPanel )

fwiw, I always have a copy of the home page in every folder for just that
purpose.
It prevents a lot of "page not found" errors
