Disable DrawingTools contextual tab on xl2007 ribbon

I have created a custom tab for all things relating to drawing. It
has an expanded selection of shapes, individual controls to rotate/
flip/send fowards, backwards etc; the crucial 'SelectObjects' arrow,
and a few other things. My intention was simply to access this tab
whenever I wanted to do anything relating to drawing (rather like the
old drawing toolbar). The problem is, whenever I insert a shape xl
automatically takes me to the DrawingTools contextual format tab (ie.
away from my custom drawing tab). Is there any way I can stop this
from happening?

I can't seem to set the whole DrawingTools tab to enabled="false" via
xml
I could create a dictator application and recreate all the menus but
that's really going too far
Perhaps I could insert the shapes by code but then I don't think I can
control their size simply by dragging as I place them
I guess I'm hoping there is an appropriate xml statement, or perhaps a
contextual tabs option tucked away somewhere.

Any tips much appreciated!
