Disable fancy effects and toolbar styles

How do you change the toolbar and menu styles in OFfice 10 (ugly) and 11
(EEEW!!! ARGGHHH!!!) to look like Office 8.0 and 9.0? I find the bright blue
mouseover effects (Office2002) and ugly round 3-D toolbars very distracting
and generally ridiculous.

Seriously, are the widgets hard-coded into MS Office, or are they
configurable somewhere?
